Wayne, Pa. (February 6, 2020) — Tekni-Plex Medical, a Tekni-Plex business, has named Duane Dunn global product manager, advanced extrusions.
Tekni-Plex recently announced the formation of its Tekni-Plex Medical business unit to facilitate the supply of mission-critical, high-value components, materials and solutions to medical device manufacturers worldwide. Medical device companies will now have dedicated sales personnel that can assist them across all product lines to provide better and faster solutions.
“Duane is known by medical device engineers worldwide for his ability to custom-develop tubing solutions for minimally-invasive surgical applications. This makes him the ideal person to leverage and build Tekni-Plex Medical’s global capability,” said Steve Penn, senior vice president, sales and marketing, and interim head of Tekni-Plex Medical. “Our goal is to help medical device manufactures make the best decisions on their most important business issues through deep engagement, expertise, innovation and quality.”
Dunn’s responsibilities include global product management for Tekni-Plex Medical’s precision tubing, known for its tightest possible tolerances and the smallest walls. This includes minimally invasive delivery systems for the cardiovascular, electrophysiology, neurovascular, gastrointestinal/endoscopy, structural heart and interventional radiology medical markets. Products include single and multi-lumen, coextruded, striped or braided tubing, as well as acetal mandrels used for manufacturing minimally invasive catheter shafts.
Dunn joined Tekni-Plex in 2018 as part of the acquisition of Dunn Industries, a leading global supplier of thermoplastic tubing. The latter was founded by Dunn and his father in 1987 to help customers solve difficult extrusion problems. Dunn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
