SOMERVILLE, NJ — As a result of the continued growth of its European and export markets, Tekni-Plex, Europe, N.V., Erembodegem, Belgium, recently began Phase III of the renovation and expansion of its operations. The announcement of the expansion was made by Michael Franklin, Vice President International of Tekni-Plex.
The 88,000-sq. ft. site, which is also the headquarters of Tekni-Plex's European manufacturing operations, is nearing completion of Phase II, the addition of a new office wing. Phase I, which was the construction of a new pharmaceutical films conversion facility on the site, is now complete and in operation. Phase III, which is the final phase of the expansion, is slated for completion by late summer of this year; when finished, it will provide enough room for the company's increased manufacturing capacity for the foreseeable future. Tekni-Plex, Europe has three additional manufacturing sites: Belfast, Northern Ireland, and two in the greater Milan region in Italy.
